From an affiliate I found through google they say that the bonus counts against the rakeback. what exactly does this mean?

It means if your gross rake is $140 and you cleared $40 in bonuses you will only earn rb on the $100 difference.

Isn't there a way round that by requesting rake back just before you clear the bonus?

I've never played Full Tilt though.

this won't work -- bonus clears in $20 increments

The fact that the bonus counts against your MGR isn't really all that bad of a thing.

Getting rakeback while clearing a bonus there still means you're getting about 70% of your rake back.
