1. played 20/40, my normal game, and got raped
2. got drunk
3. decided i was gonna win a million tickets and started 10-tabling 3/6 full
4. few hours later remembered that full table sucks and started 8-tabling 3/6 6-max
5. sobered up a little and went to 5/10 6-max
6. sobered up completely and went to 10/20 6-max and decided id stick there for the giveaway and win a lot of money with little variance. oops

Yeah, Josh pretty much destroyed this thing. I put in every single hour I possibly could and, aside from a the pain in my wrist, I ended up with 813 tickets.

I stand in awe of anyone who does this as a full time job.

Josh.

i did the math and i made like 50 bucks. $1/hr. sweet. except i think i lost 25% of the 1100 because it gets taken out of my mgr

Anyone have any idea where the various borders will fall?

I've got 179, I'm curious if that's enough to get me up from the bottom of the ladder or not.

DanS

I had 275 tickets at 9 p.m. PST. I now have 277. They're still counting. Does this really surprise anyone?

They did this last time, as well, kept it running for a few hours afterwards. I'm done, though.

I think the number of tickets required for good money will be less than everyone's expecting. Last time I was under almost every running total I saw on here and still cracked top 50. At the end of the day, there will be very few people not on 2+2 who really give it a shot. I'd be surprised if you need more than 600 for top money, but we'll see.

I got 436 tickets and lost $800 playing 16,982 hands of 3/6. I think $500 is a lock, maybe $800.

Megenoita
01-12-2006, 01:37 AM
I just think they're slow to update. And how would we know if a few more tickets came from an hour ago or 2 minutes ago? I just called them and they confirmed that they ended EST.

At least that's my excuse to quit.

Fryguy
01-12-2006, 01:51 AM
It seems like they are changing over the tables now, there's still some blue, but some normal tables are popping up now.

Hopefully 179 is enough for like 50 or 250.

250 would be nice. Am I being too optimistic?

Is halloween x 2 a reasonable guide for expectations for placement? This would mean 288 tix = $500

I'll be rather dissapointed if my 36x doesn't make 0.5k

I will repost my prediction on the breakpoints...

$1100 #1 = 1200 T
$1100 #50 = 650 T
$800 #150 = 500 T
$500 #300 = 400 T
$250 #500 = 300 T
$50 #1000 = 250 T
$30 #4500 = 150 T
$20 #10000 = 100 T

We can all laugh when the actuals come out.

Thank god this thing is over....

Ended up with 18,319 hands, 448 tickets, and lost $479.

I think I am good for $500 which at least lets me breakeven...hopefully I make it to $800 so I can at least show something for my efforts.

Three days of four tabling 15/30 full for about 5 hours a day. +$7300, 277 tickets. Too tired/disinterested to go figure out bb/100, but whatever it is, I'll take it!

17,000 hands of NL100 6max

525 tickets

and... (drumroll)

+$21.61 for an astounding 0.06 BB/100!

On the 6th I dropped $1,100 due to a few HUGE bad beats in a row and some tilt. I've been clawing my way back despite alot of bad beats in the process, and since that first downswing day I'm very happy w/ my play despite the break even week. Pulling break even weeks when the cards were saying you should be waay down is just as good as winning IMO.

Well I went for the pig gambit on this promotion. I played on my account for 505 tickets and then played on my spouses account for 419 tickets. While if I played only on one account I would have over 900 tickets to show, it should be intersting if I can get 2 $800 prizes instead. I'll let you know. I feel good that 505 will get $800, im just not sure about what 419 is going to get.

40 hours, avg of 6 tables (80% full, 20% 6max), 15Khands.

407 Happy-Happy tickets.

1.5 BB/100 but WR just OK after a couple big downswings at higher limits.

I've got to think 400+ is going to be good for $800 but I'm an optimist.

I have to say I enjoyed the 15 hours I single-tabled B&M over the last week more than Party-time. Maybe because I don't let myself scream obscenities when I am in public.

IMO much of the estimates for ticket count tiers are just wishful thinking. This is FAR more participated in than the Halloween one no one knew about.

With my 525 tickets I honestly expect to get $250. There are alot of multi-tablers who aren't 2+2ers and there are a ton of 2+2ers who have like 600+ tickets (there are several threads on this subject in various other forums).

I would love $500 or even $800, but I just don't see it happening. We'll see I guess.

It seems like it's about 1.5 tickets per table-hour. 150 tickets would take 100 table-hours, or 4-tabling for 25 hours a week. That's a serious hobby -- not just weekends, not just one table every night. Only People playing 4 or more tables, or those playing 40+ hours, will see 100+ tickets.

How many serious multi-tablers are there? We'll find out in a few days when results are posted.

I really don't think that there's 4500 serious multi-tablers. Maybe lotsa fish tried harder for this promo, but unless they're multi-tabling, they're not gonna dent 2+2 players' chances.

That said, I expect to be on the bottom rung of the multi-tablers, at 162 tickets.

I saw the thread. I think he means to say people were unaware of how the promo worked. And if you didn't log on for 2 days you didn't know about it till the last day. Alot of players thought the prizes were going to be raffled to the top 5500 players(I did). I even saw a post from someone refering to this promo that that thought the same. PP's wording is as always is retarded.
(LOL, i was going to edit this, but then I decided I was intentionally making a pun, he he.)

Anyways alot of things to take into account. This promo was 7 days, not 3. This promo ran mostly during weekdays, not weekend. The tiers for the prizes are substantially larger. Last time top prize was 10 spots, this time it's 50. For all these reasons I think 525 tickets should easily get 800 bucks. If you get 500 I wouldn't be too surprised, but you definately aren't getting the 250 prize. That would take a crap load of people doing some 8 hours of daily multitabling for 7 days straight during the week. Just makes no sense.

This is my final promo stats...

0.5/1 fixed SH, hands: 1100 and +1.05 BB/100 (9 tabled)
1/2 fixed SH, hands: 8600 and +1.5 BB/100 (9 tabled)
3/6 fixed SH, hands: 11315 and +1.77 BB/100 (6 tabled at most)

The reason i got so many tickets I think is because when I grinded 1/2 I didnt do it for the money so I actually tried to get as many tickets as possible... including checking down nuts if i thought he was gonna fold etc...

I'll hold my hand up immediately to say my poker play definitely suffered during the longer sessions. And I had about a bazillion bad beats (obviously).

637 tickets and up - $1100

308 tickets and up - $250

237 tickets and up - $50

126 tickets and up - $30

Well I went for the pig gambit on this promotion. I played on my account for 505 tickets and then played on my spouses account for 419 tickets. While if I played only on one account I would have over 900 tickets to show, it should be intersting if I can get 2 $800 prizes instead. I'll let you know. I feel good that 505 will get $800, im just not sure about what 419 is going to get.

Well I finished with 584 tickets and I was suprisingly closer than I thought to the $1100 level. If only one of my friends hadn't died on the last day of the promo I would have easily finished in the top 50. Maybe Party can give me a second chance? Play 1 more day and see if I can get an extra 50 tickets? Medical emergency wildcard?

Jeff_B
01-16-2006, 05:13 PM
no money yet but I only had like 100 something but $30 to play like I normally would for a day isnt too bad wish I could have been off all the 7 days $1100 would have been nice didnt think it would be that low

308 tickets. Right on the line!

I remember the exact hand as well. I only played it coz I had one more hand to play on another table.

The reverse bubble!

[/ QUOTE ]

I figure some of the people in the top rungs altered their game a bit to chase tickets. That aside, I'll stick to 1.5 tickets per table-hour.

50 players played 400+ table-hours in a week, averaging about 520 table-hours. 8-tabling, that's 65 hours. If they could get 2+ tickets per table-hour playing shorthanded or a bit looser than normal, it's still 50 hours.

50 players put in 520 table-hours.
100 players put in 360 table-hours.
150 players put in 270 table-hours.
200 players put in 225.
500 players put in 180.
3500 players put in 120.
5500 players put in between 54 and 84.

10,000 players put in more than 54 table-hours over a week. There's over a million table-hours in this group. They filled 6000 seats, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Obviously, peak times, etc etc, and those numbers will change. I don't know how likely the real heavy players are to play during the day, or how busy it is during Euro or Australian/Pacific evenings. I'm just looking for ballparks.

I'd guess about 10% of the people online at any one time are serious multi-tablers.

Without getting into the reasons, the easiest solution is to use a nonencrypted connection. This link should allow you to see the pdf file in any browser: pdfwinners.pdf (http://partypoker.com/images/news/newyearwinners/pdfwinners.pdf)
