Shouldn't the $2,500 travel gift card be a slightly better deal than getting 5 $500 travel gift cards? Or at least equivalent?

$500 gift card = 30,000 FPP
$2,500 gift card = 155,000 FPP

I wondered that myself. Only thing that makes sense is that the higher denominations are at a higher level and thus some of those FPP were earned with less actual rake paid than the lower level.

Regardless, if I am ever in the market for $2500 in travel, I'm buying five of the $500 and using the 5000 FPP I save to buy 16.667 stress balls to throw at people on the plane.

OK, I want that porsche! Currently I have 310 FPP's. Now how on earth am I going to get 3 million FPPs if they only allow me to deposit 2K a month? I think their deposit limit is ridiculous if you want to play some higher limits. I think this does somewhat explain whey there are so little cash games going on at stars despite the number of registered members.

I think it would be awesome if I could get one of those EPT packages. Is the Monte Carlo one really that much better than the Deauville or Copenhagen one? I know the entry fee is higher for Monte Carlo, but aside from that, is there any reason the Monte Carlo package is better?

Ok, so all the tournament values are given between 61.5 FPP/$ (for the WCOOP) to 62.8 FPP/$ (Sunday $500,000 guaranteed)

EPT at Monte Carlo is 62.5 FPP/$ and the WSOP events are 62 FPP/$.

Using 62-62.5 FPP/$ for the bahamas ($12,000 package) and WSOP main event($11,000 package, we will assume they give the same deal where you get a free hotel if you wear their gear) you get these ranges:

WSOP Main event: 682,000 -> 687,500 FPPs
WPT Atlantis: 744,000 -> 750,000 FPPs

This is assuming that they dont cut some deal with these two packages. I can only assume that they might be LESS because they haven't posted them yet. If not, why wouldn't they just put the equal value for a WSOP prelim event as for the main event.

They must be trying to figure out some way they can get it to us for cheaper, remember, they want as many players there as possible, so that Stars can add one more champion to their list (without having to sign him after)

Like a poster said above, or in another thread, at the platnum level you will be earning 20% rakeback.

For a $55+5 SNG player, you will get ($5)*(5FPP)*(2.5 Platnum multiplier) = 62.5 FPP per tourny = $1 cash value.

12,000 SnG's = $12,000 = Main Event/Atlantis package.

For those who play higher it will be much less. I know those $200+15 pros will only need 4,000 tournies to get to the bahamas.

I would kill for a nice Ipod nano - even a free one - 14000 FPP -

some of the monitors look nice too..;..

Once or twice I've played EPT prelimins just so I can cash out the 3000 FPP that comes from winning the satellite. I could see myself doing that a while and picking up some schwag.

(...we will assume they give the same deal where you get a free hotel if you wear their gear)

[/ QUOTE ]

I'm glad you asked!

If you buy into any brick-and-mortar event with FPPs, you will have to wear PokerStars gear throughout the event.

It's in the FAQ and terms and conditions, and stuff, but the more places we say it, the fewer people get surprised.

The reason we put "TBD" on the PCA and WSOP buyins is that we're not sure what the package value is going to be for next year. Assuming no change in the package value, your estimates are likely to be extremely close, and if the package value changes, count on the prices (in FPPs) changing basically linearly.

Hope you all are racking up double FPPs as we speak and are ready to start racking up VPPs at midnight on January 1st.

Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night.

Best regards,
Lee Jones

wow. i have never played on stars before, but this store might make me give it a try. party has really been pissing me off lately, so i wanted to find one of its competitors to throw some money in. i might as well give it to its biggest competitor. the only thing that i don't like is that the nl/pl games require more rake to get a fpp. i guess i'll have to go back to limit if i decide to play there. but only 35k fpp for the dell flatscreen that i am too cheap to actually pay $500 for sounds good. once your goldstar, thats only 17,500 raked hands. am i missing something here? basically, i can get a new $500 monitor every month for playing less than 20k raked hands? how many tables can you play at a time?

I'm using my points for buy-ins, but a fried of mine was saving up for the chip set. The problem? He can't get it now, because it's only available to to those with silver status. I think you mean gold or platinum. Two solutions - 1. Get your points, play like hell the month you want something to get your status, buy item. Definitely do-able for gold, platinum would be a lot of work, but still possible. 2. Get the Nevada Jacks from PSO, pay the 100 bucks to upgrade to the 500 piece set, spend the FPP points on something worthwhile. Do you REALLY need a $675 chip set?

I will definitely be interested in hearing any experiences with this as I too will be considering a trip to Europe or something with my Stars points.

Definitely hesitant to spend my points in the card and THEN find out through the phone-call associate (or whatever) that I have to pay an outrageous price for a flight or hotel or that the places that I want to go don't work very well with their business or that their packages just aren't so hot.

I mean, I would GUESS that it's probably fine and that I will be able to get a reasonable price and get exactly what I want and more.

But I don't get to KNOW that ahead of time. It seems that I essentially have to spend the money on the gift-card and then call the associate to see if I can get the kind of vacation I want.

haven't looked to closely at it yet though. Will try to find out more when I get closer to the FPP total.

Damn. For some reason I thought that the smallest Dell gift card was $2000 for 125k FPP. Am I imagining things or has this changed since the first of the year? I was going to be ordering a 2001FP as soon as I hit 35k and another one when I got that many again, but it looks like that will cost an extra 8000/62=$129 worth of points to do it that way. On top of that, the two monitors shouldn't cost a full $500 each either. Might have to wait it out another month or two...

So, it looks like I'm shooting for a $1k Dell gift card to spend on two 2001FPs, then an iPod after that.

Goal: 62k FPP, then 16k FPP
Current: 29277 FPP, Platinum
Needed: 13090 VPP, then 6400 VPP

Of course, things could change when we see the new Party store.
